Beautiful St Lawrence River Sunset

The beautiful river, much of my inspiration, peace and joy. Today is April 8th, spring and it's snowing. The river is still beautiful when I can see it, I'll look for a sunset tonight and hope for warmer weather. I've got so much to do in the studio and it's just too cold . I guess I'll make another Lavender/Lemon essential oil soap this weekend, at least it will smell divine. 

Egg Soap

It doesn't look any different from my other soaps but this is goatmilk and egg soap. Made from free range chickens, all natural and organic ingredients. I made two different scents, a lemongrass with a hint of patchouli and a lavender frankincense . Cleans and lathers great from the egg. 

Myself

I recently joined the NNY Art trail and had to describe my surroundings, studio. Last years photo but this is my studio, I call it a river cabin, size wise a small gingerbread house . Not fancy, needs repairs big time,  but I love it. It's been a part of me for 50 years, so it is hard to give up. Maybe this year I can work on getting a new door, below is some new pics of my work submitted. 

Looking forward to 2016

2016 is barely here and I can't wait to get busy with clay, soap, gardens and the beautiful St Lawrence River. All in good time I guess, my studio is still full of many lovely fresh smelling soap items from this past fall. Many clay leaf bowls are still available. Fall and seasonal soaps aplenty, Pumpkin, cranberry and a fresh Noel and Noel's tree. I heated the studio until a week ago and I am already thinking of putting the heat back on and getting going on glass leaves or more glass buttons. I can't wait for the spring Rhubarb to pop out of the ground, new bowls of clay will be drying promptly. Last two weeks at the Hammond Farmers and Artisans market.

Thank you to all who have visited and supported us. I truly look forward to my Wednesday's every year. I have made great friends and acquaintances at this Market. It's been a great season, the museum has had on the upwards of 20 venders at some of the events. Many great attendees and entertainment each week. It is a community event they can be proud of. Thank you to my sister Kim for watching my booth today, especially on such a georgeous day. After next week I am at my studio at 347b River road east, Morristown. I will have an open visit studio weekend the weekend after Thanksgiving, November 28 and 29. 2015 new soaps, falls freshly made

Recently started a soap business, all homemade, natural olive oil, and coconut oil soap. Email for more inquiries, Radiantgem7@yahoo.com, prices range from $3.00 to $7.00 depending on the size of bar of soap. Most are $5.00 each. Many fragrances, Lilac, Pumpkin, Pear, Cranberry wreath and several goatmilk/Honey variations. Lots of fun, but my primary reason was that I have always bought homemade soap from other soapers, I have not liked the chemicals and the way store beauty bars have made my skin feel. So at the end of last year, I decided to start using my own herbs and make my own soap. So glad I did, I know first hand now what it is I am bathing with and my skin feels so much better.

This blue piece has 3 pieces of glass,

center on is 1/4 in thick, with 2 silver beads.

This yellow piece is 2 yellow clay beads and 3 glass pieces.Each $35.00

This necklace I photograghed with out the additional silk ribbon that comes with it. It has 6 of my own yellow clay beads and 5 pieces of weathered glass pieces.Can be worn with out ribbon, it has its own clasp. Asking $45.00 plus $ 5.80 Priority/insured shipping.

This was a glass bowl I had fused together some time ago and it broke. Today I refinished the glass and made a necklace.

First Spring flower.

Little Bear

Spring transformation started with Lil Bear this weekend. He got PhOO-FOO"d . He looks great, feels great, new harness to boot. Now if the weather and daylight at 6pm will coo-operate we will get some exercise.

Januarys' weather

What can I say about January other than it was all over the board, very extreme from high 40's to 20 below zero. The river is still open and beautiful, birds are churpping and I'm anxious for spring.

Rhubarb leaf and bowl

This is a rhubarb leaf, 10 inches long, it turned out grat with lots of detail of veins and indentations. The small bowl is also a rhubarb bowl and the one not finished is a grape leaf bowl yet to be kilnfired and glazed.

BLOOMS

This is a beautiful moth we found in the bottom of the boat. Unfortunately is is dead, I saved it to see if I can preserve it somehow. Ducks are also finding our dock to be a good resting place. Not sure what kind this is, I still need to look it up. The summer sun is finally warming up the flowers and bring on the blooms.
