A Beautiful Weekend

I put these in the wrong order, The weekend was very productive, the gardens all got weeded and further planted, the weather was mostly beautiful, although the sky shows the storm that rolled through. Mostly missing us, thank God. The River was calm and peaceful, and the sky had many dark clouds creating a spectacular show of colors, light to dark. I spent one night this weekend taking pictures of this beautiful Oreo that just loves my flowering crab tree. Today after my gardens were done, I even got the clay out and made some new Rhubarb bowls and ornaments.

New growth

These may seem like very strange pictures to be excited about but my herb garden to sprouting. I have A summer time herb garden that I do anticipate many herbs to come back up , being perennials but I started an indoor garden in a portable hothouse to have herbs all winter long. The ones I brought in from fall lasted quite a while but without sufficient sunlight and warmth they soon died. New growth has started with a grow light and natural sunlight. I love fresh herbs, grow many during the summer and hope to expand this summer with even more. BUT, never fail, I will always have the basics of basil, thyme, and oregano.I love the variety of lemon basil, spicy and the aromatic rosemary and thyme.

Winter Beauty

I got up early this morning and the calmness, pristine whiteness, beauty in snow got me right out the door. I made the first trail around my house in such silence, listening to the chick-a dee place his call. Once all the paths are shoveled, it will be a great day to do some snow shoeing and playing with the Little Bear in the snow. The St Lawrence river is frozen but still holds her magnificence, she has been getting quite a few ice fishermen out on it these days, enjoying a great winter sport.

MY Favorite Building In Boston

I don't know if this is the thinnest building in downtown Boston, but it is definitely my favorite. It was so cool stuck in between two very large buildings. Boston and time with my son and new wife was so much fun , enjoyable and I love Boston.

Acorn ornaments and necklaces for a Happy New Year.

Grow a tree, go nuts for acorns, I've heard them all. My acorns are one inch by a 1/2 inch thick. Very adorable and each is unique. They are from low fire white or brown clay and each hand made. They can be made into an ornament or into a necklace. I also have oak leaves and oak leaf bowls. All are available through etsy or my other website. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Holiday for dogs

Halloween , Little Bear and I were a couple of good witches. He's a good sport, although it doesn't look like he's enjoying it much. For Christmas they both got hair cuts(groomed), after I tried on their new winter coats. They don't mind these, both of them seem so much warmer when we take walks.

Bear is growing.

Ok, Bear has been growing and had his first hair cut. My Dad calls him bearly there now. He is still sweet and loveable and I just love him. He is so soft and will be much better off for summer. Maggie gets clipped by me, and she is due too. We are all ready for summer now.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

This is on of the little postman on my tree. Friends have given me mail man characters or ornaments for Christmas for years since I work for the Post Office. He is so cute and greets every one at this time of year.Christmas was great and filled to the brim with love and cheer and family and friends at my home. I hope everyone felt the love that was flowing over the top this holiday season.

TOBY the Turtle

This is TOBY the Turtle. He has a new home with the church in Hammond and I'll bet he is extremely happy and will be loved by many children. He was a joy to make and I hope to have the inspiration to make another one soon. I have been so busy making Christmas gifts that I haven't gotten back making things with clay.
