I'm still with you, been busy catching up at home and still doing classes with a very talented group of artists.Last weekend we went out to Isis Melhado's and did glass bead making. Right up my alley, it was quite pleasurable and I did learn a variety of things from Kim Klatt.I've included a picture or two of our day in my photo galery on the page. This week I met with the other group I belong to, the Artisan of the River Valley, we are planning a Studio tour August 16 & 17 2008.I have also been very busy with glazing clay beads and have included pictures of some raku and a few done-glazed and fire beads I've done. My next craft/Artisan fairs are :

That Clay Stuff

That clay stuff is great! Do I sound like a Tony the Tiger? I don't have pictures of my regular clay jewelry pieces yet, they are in the works. Exciting isn't it, but I do have one, of some leaves in progress, not put in the kiln yet. The other example of the geranium leaf is on the site already. I also sell them single on a silver chain, ranging in price from $45.00 to $100.00. The Maple leaves are the more expensive because they are delicate and take so long to paint with clay, dry, and fire in the Kiln.

One picture shows one of my silvered geranium leafs with my own glass beads, silver beads and mother of pearl.

The other picture is pink and turquoise colored glass beads with turquoise beads.

The River Cabin/ My Studio

Small, cozy and very inviting. I can't always guarantee that my jewelry is displayed, sometimes it and I are off to a craft fair or show. It is not always neat either, limited space means rearranging projects or it looks like I have allot on the go (which happens most of the time).

Radiant Gem Jewelry, new beginnings

Welcome to my first blog. This is a new beginning, I have been working on a web site but have encountered a few problems. Mainly, I don't know what I'm doing with it, nor have the time to sit in front of it all day. So this is the next best thing to get on the web and stay in touch with all the wonderful artists I have been meeting lately.Here is a picture of the 3 beads I made last night after taking a clay bead class from Mary Harding. My beads are glass of course, but the class was great and I came home to my studio all excited to keep on creating. Isn't the fellowship of other artists wonderful. I thank her immensely, it is exciting to be learning from such a wonderful artist. Back to the beads, they are made from COE 104, Canyon de Chelly, with dichroic glass on top. The color is a little mystifying,it looks shimmery gray/silver unmelted but is a darker gray when done. The dichroic glass leaves a copper color on the outside. Much different to the colors I am known for, I like how it turned out. As I said this is the beginning, I will add the middle as I have time, and may the ending of this journey never end.
